The 2026 Kia K4 lineup gives Quebec shoppers two very different shapes built on the same platform. The K4 sedan keeps the classic three-box silhouette and a sloping fastback roofline. Kia is one of the brands with the highest-scoring vehicles in 2022 IIHS safety tests, which is why eight models earned Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick + awards. Here are some of the technologies that improve safety for everyone on board.
Blind Spot View Monitor
Many of Kia's new vehicles can be equipped with the Blind Spot View Monitor, which allows you to see into areas normally invisible in the mirrors. In addition to alerting the driver with an indicator in the side mirrors, this system uses cameras to provide a direct view of vehicles in the blind spot when the turn signals are activated by projecting the image directly into the instrument panel. If the vehicle strays from its lane while the blind spot is occupied by another car, Blind Spot Monitoring can also apply the brakes on the other side of the vehicle to bring it back into its lane.
Highway Assist
This technology available in a number of new Kia vehicles makes long highway trips less stressful and demanding for the driver by combining the functions of adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist on compatible highways. This technology also uses data from the integrated navigation system to anticipate upcoming curves, allowing it to automatically adjust the vehicle's speed as it approaches and exits curves on highways. This technology can also adjust the vehicle's speed according to speed limits and traffic conditions, allowing it to maintain a safe distance from other road users at all times.
Safe Exit Assist System
Some Kia vehicles feature Safe Exit Assist technology, which gives parents peace of mind when it's time for their children to get out of the car. This system can detect if vehicles are approaching from behind when an occupant opens a door. If so, an alert sounds and the rear doors equipped with the electronic child safety locks refuse to open, preventing passengers from stepping out too close to a moving vehicle, reducing the risk of injury and property damage.
