The 2026 Kia K4 lineup gives Quebec shoppers two very different shapes built on the same platform. The K4 sedan keeps the classic three-box silhouette and a sloping fastback roofline. The 2026 K4 Hatchback takes that same platform, shortens the body, and replaces the trunk with a lift-up rear door and dramatically more cargo room. For Laval drivers choosing between them, the decision is...
The Kia Sportage is getting a makeover this year, and it's looking really impressive. In fact, there's a lot to get your teeth into with this new model that will also come in hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations.
We'll have a chance to explore this model together over the next few months. Let's start by looking at three pieces of technology that immediately impress with this vehicle.
Fuel economy
Lowering fuel consumption in a model these days requires a variety of technological approaches. With the Sportage, Kia went all out by changing the powertrain and transmission. The new mill in the gasoline versions is a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder that generates 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. It is married to an eight-speed automatic transmission, two more than the model that was replaced. So, thanks to the more advanced technology offered by these engines, you get more power while seeing your fuel consumption drop by 14%.
Impressive, really.
Driver profiles
With the 2023 Sportage, it's possible to share your vehicle without having to constantly readjust your settings for your comfort level. In the multimedia system menu, you can simply create a profile and set the functions you like the way you like them. Whether it's the climate control, the position of the mirrors, the audio system, when you climb aboard and select your profile, the 2023 Sportage recognizes you and adjusts itself for you.
Automatic windows... and remote control
How many times during the summer months do you anticipate the moment when you'll have to crawl into your vehicle when the temperature is like an oven? Well, you can get around this problem with the function that allows you to automatically lower the windows... remotely. So, when you approach the car, you just have to hold down a button on the remote control and the windows will roll down, letting the heat trapped on board escape. It can also be useful at home when you can do it a few minutes before leaving or before leaving a restaurant. A small detail that makes things more pleasant.
As you tour the 2023 Kia Sportage, you discover a lot of these features and you realize one thing; this model was really designed to serve you. And that's not even counting the hybrid technologies that will soon make their debut; there too, we're sure to be impressed.
